Our featured speaker is Pam Vaccaro author of Beyond the Ice Cream Cone.
Pam’s presentation is Growing Up in Jefferson Barracks. The early years present a close-up look at the unique experiences for children living there from 1948 when civilians moved into the repurposed military buildings until 1960 when those buildings would be demolished. Pam’s presentation focuses on daily life of the children and their families through her collection of family photos, memorabilia, research and related. Her PowerPoint slides will bring back memories for those who were children living in JB during that time as well as engage those who have any association with the community that surrounded their homes—Lemay.
